I didn't ask for this. One after another, the problems piled on. First the workmen moving the soil around on the lot behind us pushed the soil against the old back wall, a portion of which fell into our yard. Then we had to have a lot of trim replaced on the house; workmen trampled on the plants, and old nails, pieces of old scraped-off paint and wood chips flew all over the garden. When the back wall was finally replaced, blobs of mortar fell all over the soil at the base. Finally, we discovered that we had a serious drainage problem. By this time, the garden was not a garden any more. All the bees and butterflies had disappeared.
